  Radical Revolution

With all the self carriage and forward motion of today's pleasure horse

In the new American Quarter Horse Association western pleasure video, Radical Revolution is used to illustrate a pleasure horse that exhibits self-carriage and well-balanced forward motion.
That did not come as a shock to owner Marc Sacre since it's a trait he noticed when he purchased the 1997 Radical Rodder colt as a yearling.
Sacre, a native Belgian has been breeding horses for more than 15 years.  He started with Belgians and switched to Quarter Horses.  In the Fall of 1998, Sacre and long-time friend, Andre Vanderheyden, a horse trainer in Belgium, traveled to the United States in search of pleasure horses.  While visiting the home of AQHA Judge Randy Wilson of Alpharetta, Georgia, Sacre was immediately drawn to a bay colt on the walker.  Sacre asked Wilson to longe the youngster and was immediately impressed by his perfect gaits.
"He changed leads spontaneously," Sacre said.  "I realized I was looking at a naturally talented prospect."
Radical Revolution, whose Dam, Zippos Desert Rose is a producer of four point earners, was purchased and immediately placed in training with Wilson's wife, Pam.
"Without great pressure she trained him very well and set the foundation for a great show horse, Sacre said.
At the end of 1999 Radical Revolution was taken to Oklahoma and placed in Gil Galyean's training program.

Just a few months later Galyean asked Sacre for permission to take Radical Revolution to the show pen.  In 2000, his first year to show, Radical Revolution recorded wins at the Redbud Spectacular, Heart of Texas and Greater Houston Texas Circuits as well as at the Lone Star Futurity.  Later that same year Galyean and Radical Revolution were named Reserve Champions in the 3 Year-Old Snaffle Bit Western Pleasure Derby at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.  In addition, he was named 2000 NSBA High Point 3 Year-Old Open Western Pleasure Maturity Horse that year.
In 2001 Galyean and Radical Revolution won the Western Pleasure Maturity at the Tom Powers Triple Challenge Futurity.  He won Western Pleasure classes at the Indiana State Fair Show Circuit and was Reserve Champion in Junior Western Pleasure at the AQHA World Championship Show.  "That year we decided to take frozen semen to Belgium and start the breeding
season in Europe," Sacre said.  "It was a success and in 2002 Radical Revolution had his first futurity champion in Europe out of his first foal crop."  This year he again produced the European futurity champion.
Radical Revolution was taken off the show circuit in 2002 and was kept busy in the breeding shed at Paws Up Quarter Horses in Purcell, Oklahoma.  Breeding with frozen semen in Europe became quite

successful and at the end of the 2002 breeding season came to a close, Radical Revolution was turned out to "just be a horse" for a while.  Galyean brought the youg sire back up in January and in just two shows had qualified him for this year's AQHA World Championship Show by earning 27.5 points.  He was Reserve Champion Senior Western Pleasure horse at the Arizona Sun Circuit and Circuit Champion in Senior Western Pleasure at the Dixie Nationals.
Meanwhile the Sacre family made a big change as well.  In February 2002 they purchased 100 acres in Purcell, Oklahoma and decided to move their breeding operation to the United States.  They built a 20-stall barn and a large hay barn.  They moved into the new facility in July of 2002.  The Sacre broodmare band is second to none.  They are own daughters of Zippo Pine Bar, Zips Chocolate Chip, Barpassers Image, Dynamic Deluxe, Potential
nvestment, KC Leaguer, Zippos Old Gold and Mr Mac Reynolds.  All of the mare are now in foal to Radical Revolution.  In addition the Sacres own three yearlings - a filly and a gelding by Radical Revolution and an Impulsions filly out of a Zippo Pine Bar mare.  They also own five weanlings - four by Radical Revolution and one by Barpassers Image.
"All are nice prospects and ready to go," Sacre said.

Marc's wife, Catherine, and daughters, Margot, 14, and Pauline, 12, are all very involved in the pleasure horse operation.
"Margot and Pauline have started working with the yearlings," Catherine Sacre said.  "We do only the ground work together and leave all the training to Gil Galyean."
Everyone involved with Radical Revolution - including the entire Sacre family and everyone at Gil Galyean Quarter Horses - is excited about Radical Revolution's future as a sire.
"Radical Revolution is cool minded with natural balance and a flowing motion,"  Marc Sacre said.  "Our goal is to breed him to good mares that can enhance those qualities."

The Sacres thank all the mare owners for breeding to Radical Revolution.
"They were all happy with their foals and are anxious to put them in training,"  said Catherine Sacre.
The 2004 breeding fee for Radical Revolution is $1,500 and special consideration is given for proven mares.  He will stand the 2004 breeding season at Paws Up Quarter Horses.  Shipped semen is available and frozen semen is available in Europe.  Call (405) 527-2188.
